Poem : I have stopped asking life to arrive loudly. Now I listen to the small temple bells hidden inside ordinary mornings. A cup of tea cooling slowly, light resting on a wall, my breath returning to me like an old friend who never left. There is prayer in not rushing. There is wisdom in letting the day open without pulling at its edges. I am learning that the sacred does not always descend in thunder or revelation. Sometimes, it sits quietly beside us, in the stillness we finally allow. And there, between silence and breath, between being and becoming, I meet myself again. ii
Story: She used to wake before the world could ask anything of her. No phone. No hurry. No list waiting like a small army at the edge of the bed. Only the pale morning light entering through the curtains, quietly, as though it knew it had been invited. She would sit with her tea near the window, both hands around the cup, watching the steam rise and disappear. Earlier, she would have called this doing nothing. Now she knew better. This was where her life returned to her. In the stillness, she began to notice small sacred things. The sound of leaves moving without permission. The smell of wet earth after a night of rain. The way silence was never empty, only full of things she had forgotten how to hear. One morning, while the tea cooled beside her, she closed her eyes and placed a hand on her heart. Nothing dramatic happened. No vision. No sign. No grand answer. Only one soft truth arrived. She had spent years searching for peace as though it lived somewhere far away. And all this while, it had been sitting quietly within her, waiting for her to slow down enough to come home. iii
